My name is Mandi Jo Jackson and I am currently offering math and music lessons in the North Houston/Conroe area. I am a certified teacher with a passion for math, music, and for helping people reach their potential. I have experience helping many public, private, and home school students master their subject or prepare for tests such as the STAAR, TAKS, SAT, ACT, GED, THEA, and ASVAB.
I believe in and try to align my teaching style with Montessori practices. I have always appreciated the power of presenting lessons one-on-one. I also recognize the importance of using concrete materials to present hands-on lessons. As a guide instead of lecturer, I foster independence and a love of learning in my students by allowing them to take a more active role in their learning through exploration. This not only provides confidence and a sense of ownership, but results in a deeper understanding and greater retention of the material learned as well.
